Once used sparingly, CT imaging has become more commonplace over the last decade, yet not all dentists recognize its value nor how it can affect patient outcomes.
This course challenges that cone-beam volumetric tomography is rapidly becoming the standard of care for three-dimensional diagnoses of both simple and complex dental treatments and demonstrates why it should be an integral part of everyday treatment planning not only for surgery where it was first utilized, but in all facets of dentistry including restorative, endodontic, and orthodontic practices.
Learners taking this course will become more familiar the use of surgical templates, how cone beam studies can affect patient outcome, and will have a better understand the differences between 2D versus 3D imaging and how it applies to daily dental practice.
- Understand the benefits of 3D imaging
- Know the differences between medical and dental cone beam scanners
