APRIL 25
10:30 – 11:30
Esthetics and Geometry in Restorations: Lip and Gum Design with Prof. Alexander Shumsky

12:00 – 13:00
The Power of Cone Beam Technology with Dr. Dan McEowen

13:30 – 14:30
Multidisciplinary Approach to Full Mouth Reconstruction with Implant Dentistry with Dr. Oleg Nashtatik
Today’s dentistry cannot be compared to that of 35 years ago. Utilizing the knowledge and technology gained has allowed for better treatment planning. A proper past medical history, dental exam and radiological evaluation including periapical x-rays, panoramic and now 3D digital scans will reduce the risk factor of pre-surgical planning. It will also facilitate to improve the patient and doctor’s understanding of the present conditions of the maxilla, mandible and surrounding tissues.
By considering proper evaluations of the periodontal, endodontic, surgical, prosthodontic, TMJ and orthodontic oral state we are able to bring forth the best treatment plan.
We cannot consider Implantology a separate field and therefore all these disciplines should be integrated to bring about the best oral rehabilitation possible for the patient.

15:00 – 16:00
Laser Applications In Dentistry with Prof. Olga Risovannaya and Dr. Dmitri Boutoussov
Lasers in dentistry are used today in several major application categories: diagnostics, therapy and surgery. Different applications utilize different laser types. Like diagnostics of caries or oral cancer require low power lasers or even LEDs with 0.001 Watt output power. On the other hand – cutting of tooth hard tissue will need 10,000 Watt laser system (10 million times difference in power output). It is very different technologies, different price levels, different everything. Would the ideal laser system in the dental office combine all benefits of laser light technology and be such a multi-functional system? Or more practical would be combination of several devices, which doctor can select based on focus of his practice, education and economic factors?
Biolase has more than 15 years experience selling over 14,000 lasers to dentists around the world. It takes much longer time for laser technology to get accepted in the dental office than in many other medical professions – why would that be? Will there ever be laser device that will replace mechanical drill – what should be the requirements to such a device? There are no easy answers, but it is definitely a big opportunity for technology and system development.

16:30 – 17:30
An Introduction to Diode Lasers: Top 10 procedures you can do with your diode laser with Dr. Glenn van As

APRIL 26
12:00 – 13:00

The Future of Implant Esthetics with Mr. Renzo C. Casellini
Mr. Renzo C. Casellini, Master Dental Technologist, will present an overview of what you can do with implants in all prosthetic situations, whether it is removable, fixed, or hybrid. He will share his Twenty four years of experience working with more than 40,000 implants He will demonstrate that the combination of esthetics and Biomechanics produces predictably superior restorations. Prosthetic management is a major factor in the success or failure of implant treatment. Inadequate planning, improper selection of a patient or implant system is the most frequent cause of restorative and cosmetic failures. Mr. Casellini will also share:
• Newest developing techniques on esthetics and Implants.
• Newest techniques in Zirconium abutments, over structures, crowns, and full screw retained restoration in zirconium with white and pink porcelain esthetics from Europe.
• Newest technique for removable, fixed, screw retained and cemented implant restorations.
• Causes of restorative and cosmetic failures.

APRIL 27
10:30 – 11:30
Surgical Complications in Oral Implantology. Etiology, Prevention & Management with Dr. Louie Al-Faraje, DDS

The use of dental implants to restore missing teeth has become increasingly widespread over the past three decades. Considering the increasing popularity, an increase in the number of complications is to be expected. Sound knowledge of surgical anatomy and the knowledge of the fundamentals of internal medicine are important prerequisites for predictable implant surgery. Also, adequate pre-surgical planning, the quality and quantity of the available bone, the surgical technique, the primary stability, the length of the healing period, and the postoperative instructions and home care are all factors that play a vital role in the success of dental implant surgery and osseointegration. The lecture will emphasize the importance of developing a protocol that allow the early detection of potential surgical complications and how to avoid them because, early detection of complications that are amenable to rescue therapies may reverse the fate of a failing implant or a bone grafting procedure.
